TLDR; Sydney Street Crew Vatreni have taken two from two by winning Street Football Australia's February 2026 X1 Australia event. Built on a winner stays format the event saw intense battles and elite gameplay.

In the new Winner Stays X1 event format. SSC Vatreni has made it two from two with their triumph in Street Football Australia's second ever X1 Tournament.

THE NEW FORMAT

Winner Stays has forever been synonymous with Street Football. You have to earn your way to the top, and prove that you have what it takes to keep it. So Street Football Australia decided this would be perfect for a smaller X1 event. Teams would have to win their way to the "King Spot" of the court, and once in this position every win counts as a single point. Matches aren't timed and the winner is the first to score two goals. Why no time limit? To make it harder for the player in King Spot, it's in their best interest to end matches quickly, as fatigue sets in.

THE RESULTS

1st: SSC VATRENI - 4 points

2nd: SSC DYNAMO - 3 points

3rd: Futsal Kings - 2 points

4th: East Coast Bulls - 0 points

X1 has a different type of energy than most formats of football. From the second the match begins, every single decision matters. Your opponent is right in front of you waiting to capitalise on any mistake. You can't switch your brain off for a second. Not only do you have to attack, but you have to defend. Beating your player doesn't guarantee a goal, each teams goalkeeper plays a major role. One caught shot can lead to an easy and uncontested counter attack., X1 Australia is a battle, it's no mercy Street Football.
