TLDR; Street Football Australia and Contraband have hosted the first 3X3 (3v3) Street Football tournament of 2026 with their January event. Strong competition from the outset saw teams pushing all the way to reach first place. While familiar faces Sydney Street Crew and Futsal Kings held two of three podium places, Los Samba Lions tuned heads to finish runners up.

X3, Street Football Australia's 3v3 Street Football National Tournament and rankings system has begun for 2026.

SYDNEY STREET CREW TAKE THE INITIAL LEAD

Having finished off 2025 being the runaway victor of Street Football Australia's first ever yearly ranking system, as well as having a deep run at the 2025 3X3 World Cup in Qingdao China, SSC had high standards to maintain. Taking this initial tournament was a statement in SSC's strength at Street Football, again sitting atop the rankings. The surprise package of Los Samba Lions made a real run in this event, taking it right to the finals where they fell short to a more experienced opponent. In 2025 Los Samba Lions failed to make it out of the group stage in even a single appearance, making their run to 2nd even more impressive. No doubt this will be taken as a statement of their intent for the 2026 calendar season. Futsal Kings, a squad also developing a reputation of high placed finishes, again finished on the podium. Having jumped into X3 late into 2025's season, they never had the opportunity to rank where they truly deserved to be. Immediately they're at work securing a spot high up on the table.
